    This time to ombudsman office and to the white house. I have seen no other campaign been so successful like what we did in July 2007 that made USCIS reverse their decision.The whole point of this is to make a point to the ones who have the power to change things.

    Gurus,

    We have applied for 485 for four of our family members. Myself (Primary) and two kids got the welcome email on 06/25 and RFE email for my spouse application on 6/26. Haven't recvd any documents in mail to know the reason, but my questions to Gurus is

    - How long will it take to get Card Ordered email after Welcome email. We havent recvd the welcome package in mail yet.

    - Is there any relation between not getting Card Ordered email and RFE on my sopuse application.

    - What could be the potential reason for RFE on my Spouse Application.

    bumping up the thread since this is the most crtical thing for us to achieve at this time so that we can put more resources at work in the coming months. As everyone could see on this thread, only few members have signed up for recurring contributions. We sent emails to all 8000+ members and the emails are still bouncing. Members have put fake email addresses. Despite repeated requests members have not updated their profile. In future when we send out updates by email or phone, such members will not get any updates too.

    Since yesterday more than 2000 members have visited IV site and read this thread. We did not even get 1/100th of members signing up for this and contributing as little as $20.

    Is this your commitment to the cause?

    OK, sorry for the delay. First make sure you�re in "Rendering" mode, select the light you want to unlink (at least at firs, since by default when a light is created it lights every object). Now, shift select the object(s) you may want to unlink, now go to Lighting/Shading in the menu bar, and select the option "Break Light Links" and that�s it! Now do a tst render and see the result.To do linking, it the same way but obviously using the "Make light link" option. Hope it helps! And I like your image very much!

    Dear FOIA officer,

    Several Employment based categories have been retrogressed for 4 years now and the exact number of pending AOS applications sorted by priority dates in the employment-based category is unknown. Department of state has been establishing the cut off in priority dates based on educated guesses and approximations. DOS and none of the Employment based applicants know the number of applications pending per category, per country sorted by priority dates. DOS visa office expressed same concern in Oct 08 bulletin.

    �Little if any forward movement of the cut-off dates in most Employment categories is likely until the extent of the CIS backlog of old priority dates can be determined.�

    This information would be helpful in determining the priority dates accurately and in determining when a visa number will be available for a given priority date in a certain category. I request you to provide me with the number of pending employment based AOS applications, (excluding approved/denied) sorted by priority date from 2001 on a yearly basis broken down for each of the following country and category. (Not the combined total of pending EB AOS applications altogether)

    EB-2 China : Number of employment based AOS applications pending with USCIS sorted by priority date on a yearly basis from year 2001 till now

    EB-2 India: Number of employment based AOS applications pending with USCIS sorted by priority date on a yearly basis from year 2001 till now.

    I am just speculating, but it appears that the CIS has decided to concentrate on EB3 AOS cases and is trying to use up as much of the quota as possible there. At the same time, the State Department is slowly advancing the China/India EB2 cutoff dates to try to use up numbers there.

    2. EB3 are being approved so use to use all available quota for EB3
    2. How slowly advancing for eb2 means current to you?

    I din;t mean to be so funny as you have realzied from my response.

    My comment was just on the other post.

    Having said that let me also say that....everyone one is tensed in some way or the other just realted with immigration. That does not mean we should stop laughing. of course i don't mean to say this at others cost here..!!!!

    As of your situation....based on what i know....you might be issued RFE..jsut be prepared for a right reason..if you have any.

    If you want a good discussion on a topic stop generalizing things and do not use rants like racist engineers etc. When you make an assumption please be clear about. You have assumed most people work for consulting companies and most people are frustrated with it. Not so. I don't work for them and I am not frustrated with them. My only concern with them is they are exploiting the system to their advantage and at my cost. This has two fold affect not only the take cut from your salary but also put a bad name to H1B visa program in general. Whoever wrote the bill or whatever are the consequences there is definitely some good things in that bill. Let me list out how some provisions are good:

    1. If you are employable in US and you have the skills you will get the job with or without these middlemen. They come into picture only because they can start a corporation and then start the exploitation game. If a bill is taking these guys out what's wrong with it ? This will allow genuine corporations to hire the right candidates.

    2. Putting 30 days of ad. to hire US citizens first ? What's wrong with it ? If their skills are really outdated and you are the best and the brightest you will get the job.

    If you need more evidence of why H1B program needs reform look no further than H1B cap used up on first day. This has put good undue hard ship for good candidates while Infosys/Wipro etc will once again take the lion's share of H1B numbers. Why do you want them to win at your cost ? Stop calling people affected by this mess as "Racist Engineers". Try to put yourself in their shoes and some of these practices are affecting both the H1B visa holders (with indentured servitude) and citizens with wage depression. No body wins in the end but the people who are exploiting the system.



    on the face of it i largely agree, you are however misisng something important in my opinion. Look at the Lc process for Gc carefully. A company is required to advertise then employ any citizen with "minimum requirements" whether or not they are suitable or the best candidate. If the same were to be applied to the H1b- and to renewals, mind it, consider whether most H1B visa holders would be able to continue.
    the fact that reform is needed does not mean this is the best way.
    and btw i wonder what happens to true consulting companies- BCG, Oracle etc whose business is to provide these services. They are not some abusive offshore operation....how is it fair to them? Seems a bit radical to me...not that i oppose the need for reform.

    The original intent of country caps was to prevent one single country from monopolizing the immigration (but this was regular unskilled immigration like family based immigration etc). But when it comes to skill based immigration it is ridiculous to maintain country caps. Everybody including the US government, USCIS and industry know that country caps in skilled category are ridiculous. That is why in H1B they don’t enforce the country caps. Because if they enforce the country caps in H1b the whole H1 program will collapse. I know the difference between h1 and green cards but when you bring people into US on H1 without country caps they should not enforce country caps on H1 to green cards skilled category. The people who are oppose immigration are using this(the country cap or rather quota) as an excuse to make things worse for immigrantion.
    getting rid of country caps will hurt ppl from ROW. we need to be united, what do u say? H1B and EB visas are not related and should not be confused as related items. There are exemptions on H1b but none on EB.

    The country caps ensure equal distribution of immigrants from all parts of the world and not only the countries which have poured in immigrants in the last few decades.
    totally agree with this.

    Have full faith in IV and I am sure they will try to keep the interests of all in mind, not just of those from one country that will benefit from ending country-caps.
