We submitted our EAD application in June first week and we got our card this week, effective from last week of July for the next one year.
Our priority date is October 2006- EB2 and we are not current. So shouldnt we have been issued a 2 year EAD?
Also we gave our finger prints last year (July 2007 filer) but this time too both the EAD cards shows no FP available .
The EAD card of my spouse (he is the primary applicant says signature waived) I still have signature on my EAD card. Anyone else with the card that says signature waived. Previous card had his signature in there.

catch22
02-28 11:53 AM
Catch22 - Seems like u hv touched the surface now.
It's more deep-rooted, even to an extent that the two Countries are sharing the "acquired" Citizens (thanks to the dual Citizenship format). It didn't amount to the Indian Govt saying " Give me back my elite. I just lost it" and the US Govt saying "Sorry, it's our gain and for keeps". It's all part of an elaborate and acknowledged process (creamy situation for the individual) .
US needs the Skilled force and matches them up with opportunities (some other countries have the force in abundance and are overwhelmed). At no point in time should the force be subjected to undue hardship, especially if a process can be remedied. Immigrating is tough. Alongside, a host of collaterals get pledged by - families, roots, skills, labor, career, merit, all towards one goal. It's a conscious decision that an individual involved makes and backs it up with his credentials. If these credentials are deemed meritorious, the process starts (in a mutually acceptable manner, if there exists a provision). If rules get changed midway affecting those collaterals, you raise it with the concerned. In this situation, I give this much to the Indian Government - it's for its people (doesn't mean to say that it lies in wait to net a wings-clipped bird). It would honour your decision and look into your cause, if justifiable. In the same vein, the US Government acknowledges merit and talent and has laid out provisions by which it welcomes the same. Hence, the process.
Word of caution: It's also in the way that you put across your viewpoint
I am not sure what makes you feel that India is overwhelmed with talent that they have to request America to take in some of these folks. India is not a war-torn country that America has to take in Indian refugees.
BTW, America does not recognise "Dual citizenship" or acquired citizenship or whatever. To your point, even if India and America were moving towards closer co-operation, the Indian Government can only ask America for increased "temporary" visas (H1B) for free movement of 'Services', per WTO. Certainly NOT lobby for Permanent Resident Status for its citizens in a foreign country. Sorry, my friend, your rationale is too utopian for me. I, unfortunately, live in the real world.
P.S: My previous post was more rhetorical. I did not mean to hurt or harm anyone.

Long time ago when I inquired at the University of Houston, they said that any person who has lived in Texas for more than a year will be considered as an in-state student. Bear in mind that this was some time in 2001-2002.

AC21 cannot be used before 180 days. Also the employer may be upset if you take a vacation and do not return. Why not give two-week notice and quit normally? Plus, the new job is contract to hire. To use AC21, the new employment offer has to be permanent, IMHO. Programmer analyst to DBA may not be a big issue. You have to try to make sure your previous employer will not withdraw I-140.

appealing/motion to reopen doesn't allow you to stay in USA.
If employer revokes 140 then no basis for getting h-1b extensions.
Can H1 be extended on basis that I-485 filled and pending for more then 1 year?

Hey, I just added this one line to the composed content and sent it to KXAN news Austin to a immigrant reporter who highlighted legal immigrant document woes (for Mexicans though) yesterday night. He replied quite promptly.
Added content:
Would you and your station be kind enough to highlight our plight? We may not be 12 million in numbers but we do contribute in dollars the same number on a daily basis
Reply from Matt Flener:
<snip>
Surendra,
Be assured I received your email and REALLY want to follow-up with you. I would love to highlight your story. I will try and give you a call this weekend, or Monday at the latest. Thank you for your email.
</snip>
If I do get a call this weekend, it would be nice to receive support from like-minded people in Austin. We could meet him at Coffee Shop or at my apartment. Alternatively, if he agress to interview via telephone, then I would love to include one from immigrationvoice core itself to highlight the woes more appropriately.
Let me know and by the way thanks for composing..

In my view It is as important as anything else for a EB organization. We should
especialy be careful with hard country limit and other related issues, It can take a turn for worse and end up EB organizations with different national backgrounds fighting for a slice in a pie rather than getting it bigger enough to hold everyone.
Ethnic diversity is good for IV, and we should encourage everybody to join regardless of their origin!
AAPI is not an EB related organization - it is a professional organization like the AMA, but all of its members are of Indian origin!
AAPI and its President agreed to this role / endorsement after they were approached for their support. Some doctors who are members of IV, are also members of AAPI. In return, they will not be getting anything - what can IV give an organization that is over 25 years old? Their meetings are attended by all kinds of lawmakers - including Presidents (of the US)! It would be foolish to not want their help - but then IQ scores are not a prerequisite for posting on IV Forums!
BTW, only docs who are affected are from India & China - all docs fall under EB2! (And, also STEM!)
FYI - doctors who worked to advance IV's goals travelled on their expense, even cross-country, to attend an AAPI meeting and it proved very fruitful in many ways to advance IV's causes. When this meeting was being held, the STEM provisions had already been included in all drafts - and these docs did not need to do anything else! Yet, these docs travelled to try & advance all of IV's goals!
If somebody has objections to country quota limit removal - take it up with the Core group & rest of IV!
We need help from everybody in this fight! AAPI can only help IV, not the other way around!
I do not understand these misgivings about AAPI's endorsement at all - am I missing something? This endorsement came after a lot of effort from a lot of people, and was actually initiated at the request of key members of the Core Group!

Here is my situation, someone please suggest me:
I am using EAD to work for my GC sponsoring company and I got laid off. My HR says that they are going to inform USCIS that I am no longer working for them. HR also says that they won’t cancel my approved I-140 and going to rehire me once I get the new project.
My question:
When I joined them there is information to USCIS.I just filled I-9 form and gave it to the company, no information to USCIS. Now when I got terminated what is the need for the company to inform this to USCIS? Anyhow I am going to join them once I get the new project in couple of months. Is it a new law? Will there be any problem at the POE if travel outside US and come back using AP? Is there any chance that USCIS sends me RFE?
Thanks In Advance

Please read......."IMHO".................my opinion, not anyone's else's and are not we all entitled to opinions? Certain I am sure there are several scenarios that might favor one mfgr over the other........."what if" situations abound.
It's not the "IMHO" or anything... we certainly all are entitled to opinions - "Canon is better than Nikon" "Nikon is better than Canon" "Contax/Carl Zeiss is better than either" "What are you thinking, Minolta has fine glass too" etc. But it is just the "far superior" thing that got me going, because it simply isn't true, while the other statements certainly do have parts of truth to them. I guess some people do treat camera manufactureres with the same kind of "fanboy-ishness" that geeks do to Intel or AMD. ;)

My point of view: Recession or No Recession - If u r strong enough and a needed resource, therez no way they r gonna lay u off --- Again just my POV.
If push comes to shove, it does not really matter how strong you are. I survived the 2K to 2K3, but have seen many smart people suffer.

Dude,
Nebraska is infact slower than Texas as far I-140/I485 goes. Checkout this link....http://www.murthy.com/news/n_nscexp.html
It says NSC is slower because they have extra VSC cases to deal with but would improve significantly once they are done with VSC cases in future.
My I-140/I-485 was filled in June 2006 too and its being processed in NSC. All we can do is wait and watch...
