After you have filed for labor or filed for 140 or only after filing of 485? Since your GC is for future employment, your current employer might not be able to support you on H1 but you can always get them to support you for future employment and so they can still not revoke your 140 petition process. So if possible be on good terms with them and ask them to keep your 140 process intact
I have a I-485 pending, and there is a chance I may be laid off after 180 days. Would I have to have another similar job offer at hand, or can I still continue looking for a job after 180 days of I-485 till I find one ?

I received the Approval notice on Aug 14th. Nothing after that. I never missed any mail from USCIS till now.
There no other status change between Initial Review and Post Decision Activity.
I have Infopass appt next week. Let me see if they have any info on this.

I-539 only allows you to change status between various non-immigrant categories. It seems that reentering the country on H4 is the only way (there may be some way to do this other than that but i am not aware of it.)
If your H1 is valid, why even bother trying to change status in the US? Simply have wife come back on an H4 and all will be good, I am sorry i couldnt be of more help :(

The media caters to its audience just like any other business nterested in its own customers. When markets worldwide rise or fall in response to election results in India, it gets major media attention everywhere because the audience is interested. Diwali is as unimportant in America as Thanksgiving in the U.K. There is no point fretting over it. Diwali could become newsworthy when people globally start tracking shopping sales in India since their businesses might depend on them. It's better to sharpen our skills so that we can seamlessly join the global highway than to sit on the sides cursing those passing by that they don't care about us.

NYC is pretty easy, you have to shown your passaport and you get your ID or Licensing driver application. Thank god, but what a mess! I am wondering if we are still welcome in this country, i don`t know any more....

The approval of h1 will not invalidate H4 visa. The usage of h1 visa invalidates H4 visa.
if you have h1 approved and don't join the company, then your h4 remains intact. Once you join a company on h1, you will fill out i-9 form, which informs the concerend authorities about your status change.
All these are correct. But the main issue is tv25's spouse H1 is denied and the reason is "misrepresentation". So, its a serious charge. And if its on the company's side that put any bogus documentation then he is fine...but if its on his wife's documentation then he ought to be worried cause it may/may not(only an attorney can answer) affects his I-484 case...his credibility is at stake now.

From what i know, if you have an Indian Passport and a US Green card, the only countries you can travel to without any visitor/tourist visa requirements are India, USA, Canada, Bahamas, Dominican Republic and Mexico (Thanks to Sunny1000 for confirmation of Mexico and Dominican Republic)

Friends I think a great injustice is being done to NSC filers , their applications are taking months for ead and ap, while TSC filers are getting ead adn AP as soon as they get receipt, do you think this will improve for NSC in future, at this time looks like august NSC filers will haveto wait till the end of the year for EAD,ap, which is sad.

What word we should use for july 2 filers who r still waiting for receipts as july 23 or later or even early august filers getting the receipts. People who got their receipts already boarded the bus, it is just a matter of time when they gill get the seat. People who haven't even got their receipts are still waiting for the next bus. Many people are worried that they might even miss the bus (Fearing that their application may be rejected).
